After an MSc Degree in Physics from BITS Pilani and a PG Diploma (Equivalent to MSc) in Forestry from IGNFA Dehradun on joining the IFS in March 1976, served in various capacities in the Forest Departments of Arunachal Pradesh, A&N Islands, Daman & Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DD &DNH). While under DD&DNH and A&N Administrations, held the post of Nodal Officer FC Act, Director (Environment) and Member Secretary, State CZMA. The other important postings held were: Dy. Director General, Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education, Dehra Dun, Chief Executive Officer, National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Principal CCF (Head of Forest Force)-cum-Principal Secretary (Environment & Forests), Arunachal Pradesh. As in service training, did MSc (Natural Resource Management) from the University of Edinburg (UK) and M.A in Rural Social Development from Reading University (UK), both of which I topped with Distinction and was a recipient of the awards by the Universities. Besides having research publications on biodiversity and medicinal plants, served on the Technical Committees of various Ministries/Departments of Agriculture, Biotechnology, National Biodiversity Authority and on the Research Advisory Committees of CSIR & ICAR Institute. Appointed to the National Green Tribunal as an Expert Member on January 7, 2013 and his tenure ended on December, 08, 2017.
