Born in Delhi, Justice Sethi did his schooling from St. Xavier's, Kanpur and graduated from Christ Church College, Kanpur. He completed his law course from University of Delhi in the year 1982. Joined Delhi Judicial Service on 04.11.1986 and got promoted to Higher Judicial Service in the year 2000. Worked in different capacities and presided over civil & criminal courts, Labour Court, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Special Judge CBI, Member Secretary DSLSA, Registrar Arbitration Centre, District & Sessions Judge, South & South-East districts, Principal Secretary, Law, Justice & Legal Affairs, Govt. of NCT, Delhi, Principal Judge, Family Courts, District & Sessions Judge, South-West district. Justice Sethi is also a trained Mediator and a trainer as well and worked as Judge-in-charge Mediation and successfully mediated 3631 cases with 95% success rate. Got elevated as permanent Judge of High Court of Delhi on 27^th May, 2019.  After demitting the office of Delhi High Court Judge, he joined as Judicial Member of National Green Tribunal at New Delhi on 6^th April, 2021.  In view of his appointment as Chairperson of Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DART), New Delhi, he demitted the office of National Green Tribunal on 20.03.2022.
