Retired from the Indian Forest Service from the Andhra Pradesh cadre. Served the Forest Department in different capacities including Divisional Forest Officer in three districts and Conservator of Forests in one territorial circle. Worked in the research wing and has about 10 years of experience in Applied Forestry Research. Worked as a professor in Technical Forestry, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, Bhopal. Underwent training on research methods in forestry at Oxford and Reading Universities in the UK and attended a mid-career training at Syracuse University, USA. Recipient of the National Award for Excellence in Forestry Research for the year 2000- 2001 from Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, Dehradun. Appointed to the National Green Tribunal as an Expert Member on November 16, 2012 and his tenure ended on November 15, 2017.
